Execution Integrity Advisors (EIA) was founded around experience – and the idea of continuity.
EIA was founded by Patricio V. Rivera, PhD, drawing on more than 35 years of international executive and operational leadership experience.
His background spans complex operating environments across North America, South America, the Middle East, and North Africa, with expertise in operational integrity, HSE, enterprise risk, governance, and leadership.
Combining practical executive experience with research, professional development, and emerging technology, Patricio brings a forward-looking perspective to the challenges leaders face today.
His work reflects a fundamental belief: better information matters most when it leads to better judgment, stronger decisions, and more effective action.
Patricio V. Rivera, PhD
Founder & Managing Director
Following a 35-year international career in the energy industry, Patricio founded Execution Integrity Advisors to share experience, strengthen leadership judgment, and improve how organizations understand and manage risk.
His career spans North America, South America, North Africa, and the Middle East, with experience in field operations, major projects, corporate leadership, international operations, and executive-level HSE and operational risk governance. He concluded his career with Occidental as Vice President of HSE for its international oil and gas operations.
Organizations rarely lack information. The challenge is recognizing which information matters, understanding what it means, and acting while there is still an opportunity to influence the outcome.
Patricio’s doctoral research in Occupational Health & Safety examined how organizations can understand and measure the value created by effective HSE management systems. His subsequent work explores Value of Information, major accident risk decision-making, predictive technology, human factors, and organizational learning.
Dr. Rivera is developing a personal doctrine exploring leadership, HSE, personality, coaching, mentoring, judgment, and continuity. This authored work draws on professional experience, reflection, and research to examine what responsible leadership requires and how people develop their own judgment.
Its connection to EIA is Principles into Practice: selected principles inform observable practices within the EIA Framework. Evidence from application can help refine those principles. The doctrine and the framework retain distinct purposes and development paths.
Leadership determines whether risks are discussed openly. Culture influences whether weak signals are recognized. Information determines what leaders know. Judgment determines what they do with it.
Execution integrity means ensuring that what an organization intends to achieve is consistently translated into what actually happens in the field.
Organizations often have the strategies, systems, information, and technology they need. The challenge is turning these resources into consistent decisions, disciplined actions, and meaningful outcomes.
At EIA, we call this Execution Integrity; the disciplined alignment of intent, decisions, and actions, especially in complex and uncertain environments.
Our approach is grounded in three core principles:
Clarity of Intent ; Establishing clear objectives and expectations.
Quality of Judgment ; Making informed, thoughtful decisions in complex situations.
Discipline of Action ; Translating decisions into consistent execution and results.
Every organization faces decisions where clarity, judgment, and disciplined action matter.
EIA works with executives and leadership teams to explore these challenges, strengthen execution, and improve the connection between strategy and outcomes.
